Happy Friday

So school has started and I've been keeping busy. It's pretty weird to be a junior but I like it already. I feel more confident and sure of myself (don't ask me why) and I like not being the newbies or the youngins'. Anyways my goal this year is to learn more people's names and to actually acknowledge them. This is a daunting task since we have a lot of new people here and I'm not doing that good yet remembering their names but I will press on.

Anyways I'm tired but thought I'd share some pictures from good ol' Kentucky.

7 quick take Thursday

Okay so I know it's not Thursday but I've been busy.

1
Last weekend, I traveled home from Leighann's a different way just so I could go to Forever 21. Yeah I'm crazy especially because I had to pay $1.25 total for 2 separate tolls (which I didn't really have). I had borrowed 50 cents from Leighann but I didn't know about the second toll and ended up paying 60 cents (of the 75 cent toll) in pennies. Needless to say everyone was mad and were honking their horns. haha

2
My dog apparently likes corn. I helped my mom freeze 50 ears of corn and basically the whole time, the dog sat and begged for me to give him some. But the really dumb thing was that he's now deaf so I kept yelling for him to go lay down and he wouldn't even move an inch. Finally when I was cleaning up, I put like 5 pieces of corn on his food and he ate the whole plate of food that he didn't want to touch before that. That's one way to get your dog to eat "his" food. (that last sentence sounds like something a mother would say about her "picky" eater except insert "child" in place of "dog". weird.)

3
My project for these 2 wks that I'm home is to clean out my closet because it is stuffed full of clothes that either don't fit or I don't like. (or one of my many sisters didn't like and just stuffed in there). So I started that project the first couple days and then.... kind of stopped. Yeah my room has looked like this for the last week. I should probably finish that before I leave.
4
I slept in until 12:37 one day this week. I have no idea how that happen. I don't even sleep that late in college. It was really weird. I woke up and knew it was late but I was thinking 10:30 or 11. It was such a shock to see 12:37. I was pretty rested but I hate feeling like I wasted my day. Also I couldn't fall asleep that night which is always a bummer.

5
I saw a car on the highway that looked like one of my friend's car so of course I sped to catch up (just in case). It was definitely not my friend but it did happen to be one of my old teachers from high school. Awkward. So I kept speeding so that they wouldn't know it was me. haha. I hope it worked or they'll just remember me as "the good student who speeds." But I guess that is typically of us "youngins" so who cares right?

6
I used cash for the first time in who knows how long it's been. It was weird to not have to sign anything when I was done paying for my items. I should probably do it more often.

7
Cleaning out my closet, helped me find the infamous piano jeans that my sisters wore. They are terrible. I don't even think they were instyle when they wore them. Well maybe they were but they shouldn't have been. They are so high-waisted, baggy, and have those awful piano keys. I don't know why my sisters wore them.Maybe they were just really dedicated to their piano playing and wanted to practice their hand formation at all hours of the day? Who knows but I'm definitely getting rid of those pants.

Technology Fail

I was going to upload a audio file of these boys saying "Happy Birthday" but I can't get it to work. Bummer, it was really cute.

Childhood

Okay so apparently I was a pretty stylish kid. I was going through my clothes in my closet and saw some really cool shirts, shorts, capris, and dresses. The only sad thing is they are all way tooo small. But pulling out all these clothes has made me think about different memories about where the clothes came from or who they came from. Most were hand-me-downs but some I bought on my own accord and I wish I hadn't. Some of those clothes, I hate to admit I thought were cool. It's funny to think how much we can change as time passes.

7 quick takes

7 unrelated things to just show what's going on in my life:

one: I've been with my sister, Leighann the last few days and it's been really fun. She's blogging at this very moment and is right next to me on the couch. Yes, she did catch me checking her blog to see if she was done but really I could have just looked at her computer screen. Yeah.... and now we're both on each other's blogs while still sitting right next to each other. (imagine it. now laugh.)

two: I'm in VA and was actually cold today. Maybe my blood really did thin out in Florida. It was like 80 or something ridiculous like that and I had on a zip up hoodie. In my defense, it was rainy so it probably felt colder.

three: I'm back in the phase of liking the Jonas Brothers. I even had Leighann e-mail her friend who knows them to see if I could meet them when they come to KY later in August. Yes, I am 20 yrs old but whatevs.

four: My heart broke when I saw my little nephew in the hospital and then again when we had to leave him there and I saw the tears in my sister's eyes. But my heart was cheered a little when my niece just looked at me in the mirror and spontaneously said she loved me and gave me a hug.

five: My sister was reading her post outloud to ask Henry if it was disrespectful:
Leighann: ... "My mom use to have dial-up. My husband would refuse to use the computer at her house. He said he would rather bang his head on the wall. Luckily she moderned up three years ago by getting cable. Thank God." Is that paragraph disrespectful?
Henry: Change it to Thank Goodness.
LA: Did you think it was taking the Lord's name in vain?
Henry: I didn't but it might offend some people. Were you sincerely thanking God?
LA: Have you ever used Dial-up?

six: I finally met a couple that I've been working for almost a year. They are friends of Leighann and Henry and I was doing photoshop and picture projects for them. I've talked to both of them on the phone and e-mail severally times but never met them in person. So Leighann and I spontaneously stopped by their house and I met them and their 6 kids.

seven: I have discovered with my new haircut that if I take a shower at night and go to bed with a wet head, my hair actually looks awesome. (if by chance you don't think it's awesome, please keep that to yourself and don't burst my bubble, thanks) It's semi-wavy and has some body to it. I actually like it better than when I dry it. Part of that reason might be because I don't have to waste time drying it but also because it doesn't do the weird wave on the left side of my hair. Hard to explain but believe me it's bad.

Anyways this idea was taken from this blog which is actually pretty funny. You might have to scroll down to funnier posts but this lady had me chuckling.
