Katie and Jack are here for the Fall

My sister, Katie, moved in with us 2 weeks ago and we've been having a blast so far. She is finishing up school and had to do 2 clinical type placements and decided to do one in Wisconsin. I'm sad to say (and maybe you guys will be reading this) but I blogged last week about our weekend and it never saved or posted so... get read for a picture dump.

It was nice last weekend so we went to the lake. Jack loved it.

We went to the farmer's market each weekend to grab the veggies for our meals each week. Which reminds me.
We've been cooking. ALOT. The Mormons maybe have one thing right. Multiple women in the house to help cook and clean (other than that, they have a lot wrong.). It's awesome! We take turns picking out recipes, grocery shopping, and cooking. It's really fun! And I think Adam loves it since I all but gave up cooking went I went gluten free a couple months ago.

We went to an orchard and got pears.

and apples

 looked cute
 became children of the corn

and got baby pumpkins.
It was fun!

We went to large flea markets, got bargains, and saw really pretty furniture.

Nothing to do with Katie but I started my new job and they had my sign up the first day. Awesome.

We went to Dave and Buster's and played Fruit Ninja
and air hockey. So fun. And I crushed everyone at basketball. The second place winner had 26 pts while I had 40 pts. Thank you Buck and Chrissy for being my basketball coaches in high school so I could go on to win at Dave and Buster's haha
 Jack and Adam became friends.
We went to a fall festival with owls
 apple butter & cider
 friends
 bluegrass music
 dancing
nature walks that take you off the beaten path
mushrooms the size of your head

Pretty views!

Sorry, life got busy again and it's not easy to blog when you don't have access to internet.

Two weekends ago, Katie and Jack came to visit. It was a load of fun. We packed way too much into one weekend but it was very much worth it

this little buddy kept creeping from the back to the front. He thought we didn't notice.

She came on Thursday night and didn't leave till Tuesday.

We got our nails done, went shopping, made a day trip to Chicago to visit Adam and the big city, watched movies, and made yummy food (well she made the food but I ate it ;)

Where all the dogs have to go potty in Adam's city apartment. Run implied to Katie and I that it would be a garden rooftop or a path somewhere.

this was it. More like Dog Square or Back Alley or really smelly space.

the bean!

It was so good to see her and hang out for multiple days in a row.

Summer 2011

I am now an officially graduate of Asbury University. So weird but I'm not freaking out like I thought I would (probably because I have for the last 8 months that when it actually happened, I was well, fine.). I had two weeks at home helping my family, getting rid of stuff I never wear or never use, and getting to spend some good quality time with everyone. And now I am back in the bluegrass nannying in the mornings and waitressing at night. It's not exactly glorious but honestly it's fun. (of course, thisis only day 2 of the routine but sofar, so good). The kids are cute. One girl at 3 1/2 and one boy at 10 months. This week and next are a little different because their mom is still teaching school so I pick them up from daycare and take care of them in the afternoon. This involves playing, bath time and naptime for the majority of the time. Not bad at all. I'll see what the morning involves in 2 weeks when their mom is done teaching and in fact taking graduate classes in the morning. I started server training last night. I really like who I work with and I think I'll get the hang of it even though I've never done it in my life.I'm staying in my OWN room in the family's basement of the kids I watch. It's a really nice room and I didn't bring a lot of stuff for the summer so if feels so open. I love it. I don't have to share with anyone and it can be as clean or dirty as I want it. It feels a little like freedom so I'm thankful for it. I think this summer will be a good one. I have a couple really good friends who are staying in the area so I'm really excited to get to spend more time with them before we really begin "real life".

oh yeah when I was home, I took lots of pictures of my friend, jack, for my lovely sister, Katie, and her husband.
