Mom's Wedding Weekend

My mom got married this weekend. Spending time with my family was long overdue so I was pumped to see every one. I decided to just post the pictures of weekend instead of hashing out everything that happened. The photos are a little blurry, I apologize. The weekend was great. I wish we had more time but I had so much fun.

Puppy sitting

I got to puppy-sit this adorable little thing the last few days. He is such a snugglebug. The best thing about puppy-sitting is there is no long-term commitments. You get your puppy fix and then you give him back ;) It's almost like having grandchildren.

Let's just say I didn't get much done the last few days because this guy kept trying to take naps everywhere I was. This was when I was trying to do crunches. How am I supposed to do crunches if you're having snoozefest 2012 under my back or on my arm? Dude....

Okay so his owners just got him on Friday and then I started watching him Saturday night so the jury is still out on his final name. Anyone got ideas? I think their names right now are Todd, Sam or Samwise (from the Lord of the Rings Trilogy) and Oliver but they'd probably just call him Ollie.

Pinterest Party

Okay so I didn't exactly do a craft from Pinterest but I did do a Pinterest inspired dyed egg.

I've really gotten into ombre-d things since being on pinterest. I love the contrast yet simplicity.

This person actually did ombre eggs too but with not as harsh of a line. Here's how they did it.

Next week, I hope to have a more legit pinterest party ;)

Major Recap

Remember when I used to blog? Yeah me neither.

(I thought it was time to update y'all on some things I've done lately and then I ate a whole row of warm brownies and wasn't as motivated. So here is a shortened recap.)

Indiana is getting better to live in. It's amazing how much a place can change with some sunshine and new friends.

I've been traveling the last few weekends. Two weekend ago went something like this.

Left Saturday morning and heading south to pick up my dear friend, Jenelle, from the Indy area. We then headed North to Milwaukee!!! We had a blast all weekend. I dropped her off with her good friend who she hadn't seen in a long time and I met up with Adam. ( Jenelle and I met up the next day)

We had a FULL day.

(Remember my Saturday started at 6am and I didn't get to Milwaukee till noonish)

We saw the Hunger Games. (Loved it)

Walked around the mall and saw cool Marquette memorabilia.

Went to the Bucks Game.

Ate dinner.

Next day.

Church

hit some golf balls with his friend. (He's teaching me how to golf. It's hard but fun too)

We got the jumbo bucket because we're serious about golf! (or there were 3 of us) this picture makes poor Adam look like he's struggling but really it was just timing of it haha

Picked up Jenelle and gave her the grand tour of M-town.

Saw Lake Michigan and played around on the playground and the pier.

Went an ate at this cool restaurant in the Third Ward and saw a ping-pong club called Spin. Seriously cool idea.

And then just hung out

Monday

was just chill

ate at Kopps Frozen Custard (Yummy burgers/fries/and custard)

got the tour of Marquette and then had to be on our way

It was a lovely weekend.

Then was Easter weekend. It was wonderful!

We played mini golf, hung out with friends and family, watched the Masters, and dyed eggs. Dying eggs was serious competition. Adam did Cubs, curling, and golf (shocker), I did ombre-style eggs with messages, and his sister, Sarah, did crazy designs. Sad I didn't get a picture of them all.

I'm sure we did other stuff but it was way chill compared to our previous jam-packed weekend so I don't remember much else.

Pinterest Party

I'm joining the Pinterest Party through my sister's blog. She would have a snazzy button if I had made it this week. Sorry sister. Anyways, we're trying to make a craft/or something off Pinterest each week.

Here's what I did this week.

Cute framed calendars that I decided to hang on my wall. Here is the super easy tutorial. Seriously, the hardest thing for me was picking out the right paper. (I used birthday bash by imaginisce) and frames from Target ($2.99 a piece).

Sorry about the quality of photos but it really does make my kitchen a little cuter. I really like them. I'm just going to switch out the months from each frame when it's time.

In other related news, I broke my binds because I was stubborn and frustrated and pulled on the actual blind to try and get it to come down. #goodone.

Well, hope you guys have a great weekend. I'm hoping to relax, get some stuff done and go see Adam at his curling match that is 2.5 hrs away from my house on Saturday. Should be interesting.

Recap with pictures

A couple weeks ago, my friend Kindra got engaged in this restaurant.

I got to be the wingman a.k.a sneaky. I got into his truck bed (while they were in the restaurant) and put a gift basket in the front seat, a sign on the windshield, and took a gift to the waiter in the back of the restaurant.

Then I waited behind this potted plant to try and get pictures when they walked out.

And I blew it. I was borrowing a lens and didn't have it ready when they came out... Okay the real thing is that I did have it ready but discovered 30 seconds before they came out that it could go infinitely closer so I didn't have it focused on them. Sad day but next time I get to be sneaky, I'll be ready.

Another friend, Katelyn, got engaged the next day but unfortunately I don't have any pictures of that.

Next weekend, I went to Milwaukee because I wanted to.

Adam really likes curling. (excuse the lighting, had it on the wrong setting and didn't feel like editing it.)

There was a chilispiel that weekend. Normally games for curling are called bonspiels but this one was just for fun and was complete with a chili cook-off. What says north more than this?

Best of three. So sometimes I played this game instead of watching every moment.

Had to get the little silver ball on the little tracks numbered 1-100. I got as far as 30 haha It was hard to maneuver it all the way past that. You have to turn it upside down, side ways, diagonal to get it to go where it's supposed to.

What would a chilispiel be without a muffin tin filled with sample cups of each chili?

Ended the weekend with the Superbowl. Go Giants!
