Week Recap

I accidentally took a vacation from my blog this week. Whoops. Sorry to my 17 faithful readers. Here's a quick recap of this week.

We helped some of Adam's bachelor friends move in together over last weekend.

Example A of this being a bachelor pad: They only have 4 spices, well 2 really. 2 cinnamons and 2 paprikas. (I later found 2 salts and 2 peppers keeping it with the theme)

Example B: After we moved stuff, the boys started to play P-I-G. They had to get really creative with their shots, hence the one under the desk and the one under the blanket. It was hilarious.

Example C: Later they played 2-on-2 INSIDE. This was also a big lol and really fun to watch

I feel bad for the neighbors below. Yikes.

Another thing I did this week, is go to the DMV. Lucky for me, I showed up to the busiest and largest DMV in Illinois during everyone's lunch. haha This is actually just half of the building that didn't have an empty seat anywhere. It was kind of funny. I knew once I got there that I wouldn't be able to make it through but decided to wait and make sure I had all my paperwork right so that when I did come back, we'd be good to go. I'm glad I did wait, because I was in fact in the wrong building. Haha I walked into the next building which was probably a fourth of the size and had 5 people in line. It was a twilight zone type of moment. Lucky for me, I got our car registered and made it back to work before our team meeting. boom!

We went to a Cubs vs Pirates game on Wednesday. It was a little chilly but it was really fun. We sat in the bleachers with the rowdier crowd, which went crazy when there was back to back cubbie homers. It was so fun!

We also texted Ryan (via his mom of course) to tell him we were watching his favorite team. He  (leighann) sent his reaction back. He is so cute!

Can you see the wind blowing my bangs back? haha lucky for us, it was a warmer day so it wasn't too bad despite the wind.

We're hitting up a Sox game tonight with some friends and then heading to Indiana for Saturday and Sunday to visit some friends. Hope to be back to blogging next week.

Happy Weekend!

Friends come to visit

We had some friends come and visit us for the long weekend. It was so much fun ;) Some of this pictures are going to look like other visits from friends but that's only because I didn't take any photos of the other stuff haha

Travis was Adam's roommate for 4 years and his best man in our wedding. Him and his girlfriend came up from Kentucky on Friday Night and stayed through Monday. This weekend was also the 110th anniversary of beginning of Harley Davidson so there were a lot of bikers in town.

On Saturday, we headed to one of our favorite parks in the city where we saw a lighthouse and played the par 3 course. It was a really nice day.

 Travis made a Lion friend

I was the photographer because I'm trying to rest my wrists and golfing doesn't exactly provide that needed rest. Ally is a really good golfer. She could have played in college but decided to play Softball at Louisville. She's a pretty athletic girl.

After golfing, we tried to go to Lake Michigan but it was green again... not sure why this always happens when guests come ;( so we were heading somewhere else when we saw the cutest Lemonade stand and Adam always stops at lemonade stands so we stopped and had some really good lemonade.  Right as we were leaving the stand, 16 bikers stopped for lemonade. I'm not even sure the kids had that much.

Next we headed to one of our favorite neighborhoods in the city, Bayview, to see if the lake wasn't as green.... It still was but they have a nice park where we could play catch and football so we hung out for a bit.

We saw a photo opportunity with a cool anchor so we took it.

We went to the Brewers game that night and since they were still giving out $10 food vouchers (because of Ryan Braun's use of steroids), we got $8 tickets with $10 vouchers. Not a bad deal. There weren't a lot of people at the game because of the Harley Davidson events and a huge wrestling/fight being held in Milwaukee, so we got to change our seats every inning for a different point of view. It was really fun. The game was close too which made it fun.

The next day, we went and played some catch since Travis and Adam used to play baseball together and Ally still plays softball. We also wanted to check out a local college's campus so we ended up at Concordia University's field. It was fun.

This is said college's view of Lake Michigan. Doesn't suck. This is really what the water looked like on Sunday.

We had a really chill weekend catching up. Glad that they could come to visit. Anyone else do something fun for the long weekend?

Leave it to the boys

We had an interesting weekend jacked full of activities. Well, Friday night was pretty lazy but we did some errands and started watching the Bourne Series (Can you believe Adam had never seen all of them? He wants me to correct that sentence that he has but believe you me, when we first started dating, he hadn't. So there. I win. I mean what?!?)

Saturday we went tailgating at the Brewer's game because apparently Wisconsin tailgates at every event. Fun fact, one of the reasons that Miller Park was built in the "suburbs" was because they wanted to build a big enough parking lot for tailgating to be possible. Another fun fact, people used to tailgate and not go to the game so now they kick people into the game which is a funny thought. Anyways, a couple of us got there before our friends who were bringing the grill so we were just chilling by our cars. When Justin and Spencer got there (a.k.a guys with the grill), they called us so we could meandering back many rows and end up at the truck. We brought all our condiments, chips, drinks, brats/hotdogs, buns, fruit, dips, chairs and ended up at the truck. This is the part where Brian who planned the whole day, informs us that he actually didn't ask Justin to bring his grill but just assumed he would. At this point, Justin informs us that he actually doesn't have grill anymore. So, at this point we made Brian ask everyone one in the vicinity if we can use their grill so that we can use the supplies we bought and enjoy a grilled hotdog. Haha it was a really funny situation and it was fun to get some sun with some friends. Adam and I didn't end up going to the game because there weren't any cheap tickets and the roof was closed on such a nice day so we went home and met up with everyone later.

We ended up going to a late night improv show. There were 9 of us so we had to take 2 cars. During the middle of the show we noticed that one of our drivers was missing. We thought he had gone to the bathroom but then he was gone for a long time. About that time we got a text from him saying he was really tired so left. The weirdest thing ever. You drive 4 other people to a show and then sneak out of the show without telling anyone? Wow. LOL. We made it work but it was a super interesting moment when you realize you've been left somewhere.

Anyways, all in all our weekend was fun, interesting, and full of beautiful weather ;)
